Overview - Turnkey New Home Construction
Modern Rustic Living is a lifestyle that balances the convenience of today's technology with time-honored rustic beauty and exceptional craftsmanship. It is not a step back in time, but a step forward to a place where we can live and enjoy the best of both worlds. At Modern Rustic Homes, it all begins with a focus on YOU!
Design - It's All About You!
If you can describe it, we can draw it and build it. We do all of this respectful of budget and building system while keeping your vision for the look and feel of the home you describe. We begin your journey with concept drawings to capture your ideas on paper followed by CAD (Computer Aided Design) construction drawings which detail the architecture and specifications for your new home.

Turn-Key Construction - You're Ready to Move In
We build your home from start to finish. Many builders only assemble and dry-in the house, leaving you to complete electrical work, flooring, kitchen appliances, and other important pieces of the puzzle that complete your home—not Modern Rustic Homes. We take your home all the way to the finish and make it ready to move in.
We are an exclusive developer of Jim Barna log homes and timber frame homes.
Quality of Life
Most of our clients are looking for a second home, an investment home, or that final home they have been dreaming of for years. They want their new home to provide them with convenience and low maintenance while also including all the amenities they have become accustomed to. Below are listed a few of our most frequent requests.
- Green Building - Using sustainable, renewable and energy efficient materials, including high efficiency windows and doors, high performance insulation products, solar and geo-thermal alternative energy sources, as well as low maintenance materials and finishes.
- Universal Access - Providing greater accessibility, regardless of age or ability, including wider door openings, larger open shower designs, wheel chair accessibility, single level living and/or elevators and lifts.
- Living in Place - Providing the housing that is needed today while allowing for our changing needs as we and our family mature. This includes homes with single stories, double master designs, zoned heating and cooling systems and/or designs that accommodate your needs today while also allowing for a growing population of multi-generational family homes.

A few questions we get frequently...
-
"How long does it take to build a house?"
That depends on what type of project you have. For example, with a system built project that is going to be completed by the owner, it is usually 8 to 12 weeks from the time of the order to the delivery of the home. For complex conventional homes that will be taken all the way to completion, it could take as long as 9 months. -
"Can I change standard plans that are available?"
Absolutely. We don't call them custom homes for nothing. Each standard model can be used as a starting point for and endless number of variations. Walls can be moved, plans can be flipped, and built on a crawlspace or a full finished basement. It's up to you!
